Global Disciples represents one new approach that's working. It's a solution suggesting a new paradigm for mission. It adapts methods to fit with dramatically changing global realities. It makes use of communication technologies that allow people from many nations to work together globally. It's innovative, practical, and cost-effective. And it works.
Global Disciples assists the local church—Christian communities and congregations around the world—to develop local strategies and mobilize local workers who will access the unreached areas in our world today.
Rather than training and sending western mission workers into these restricted areas, Global Disciples empowers clusters of churches in the region or from similar cultural groups to equip their own people to share the Good News. These committed believers are not only motivated, they also are focused, effective communicators who understand the local language, commerce and customs.
The results are simply amazing. We regret that some of the most incredible stories can only be told in general ways due to security concerns. What God is doing in these indigenous church movements underscores the value of past mission efforts. As new doors open in areas closed to the western church, God's people are learning to work together in unity to accomplish our common goals.
